In Madison, Wisconsin, the Tibetan community comes together each Sunday with the elders teaching the next generation the history, culture, language, and dance of the place left behind. White Wednesday or Lhakar gatherings are a way to connect to their Tibetan essence. They also gather in February at the Buddhist temple to celebrate Losar, the Tibetan New Year. Teachings at the temple on Tibetan Buddhism also bring the community together. And they make their voices heard on the anniversary of Tibetan National Uprising Day.
